At the Crossroads: Our Journey
Since the late 20th century and the early 21st century, various efforts have been made towards business restructuring, M&A, and organizational changes.
During this period, significant achievements have been made in the development of legal and tax systems, valuation rules, and methods for creditor coordination. Business restructuring and M&A have become common options for all companies, no longer considered niche areas.
However, we are now facing new challenges related to human resources.
The declining birthrate and aging population have progressed beyond a certain threshold, making it difficult to maintain infrastructure developed during the high-growth period, and labor shortages have become the norm.
Improving treatment to secure human resources, alumni recruitment, and extending retirement age have certain effects, but the declining birthrate is progressing faster. We believe that these measures alone are no longer sufficient.
So, what should we do?
One solution is to take a step towards a diverse organization and society. We believe this is something that should be started now, precisely because the declining birthrate is progressing rapidly.
We believe that diversity has inherent value that homogeneity does not.
When starting something new, when we need to take a different approach than before, and when we need to achieve a lot with limited personnel, diversity is said to demonstrate its power (Matthew Syed, “Rebel Ideas: The Power of Diverse Thinking”, Discover Twenty One, June 2021).
Indeed, in the past, domestically, we have valued being homogeneous and ordinary. By being homogeneous, conflicts and opposition were suppressed in advance, meetings reached conclusions smoothly, and everything proceeded in harmony, which may have pursued efficiency.
However, we believe that now is the time to change this thinking and expand possibilities.
In addition to addressing the declining birthrate, the introduction of new technologies, transformation of business models, and adaptation to an inflationary economy are also necessary. The current management environment is undergoing drastic changes. As a strategy to overcome this difficult situation, it is important to:
- Prepare to accept diversity in human resources,
- Use this opportunity to transform the organization and culture,
- Start new businesses and initiatives.
We live in diversity. Our ways of life, cultures, and ways of thinking are not homogeneous. There are always boundaries and discontinuities.
By not forgetting this, we believe we can gain the empathy of more people.
We aim to create businesses that contribute to the happiness of people now and in the future.

- Management consulting business
- Organizational consulting business focused on human capital
